F is for Fabulous Fabric

I love Fabric!
When I am Feeling stressed, my Favorite thing to do is to go to JoAnn's and run my hands over all the Fabric.
I call it JoAnn's Therapy.
I also love buying Fabric via etsy - because there are no Fabulous little Fabric stores near where I live.
Though, on etsy, I can't touch the Fabric.
And - I like to TOUCH Fabric.
Etsy benefit - lots of options AND I can buy it right from my desk at work!
WOOT!
Some recent Fabulous Fabric I purchased from etsy:

Ahhh...FABULOUS!

  11. Amy! I am in love. Is that cotton or flannel? Jessie would adore that owl fabric. Is this for a quilt.

You have turned into a quilting machine!

I am going to take a little of the responsibility for it!

  13. I am crazy about fabrics too! I was a home ec major back in the day when there was such a thing! I used to make all my dresses and skirts but we have no good fabric stores in Chattanooga...either Hobby Lobby or Hancocks ( yuck). Never thought about on-line because I am kinda like you, I need to feel of it.

  15. Good Morning Amy,

I certainly can identify with you on your Fabric post! I love feeling of AND BUYING material. I had a trunk full of yards of material that I bought and never used because I had more material than I had time! When we moved to TN about 3 yrs ago, I donated several hundred yards to the local senior citizen group that made quilts to sell as fundraisers for their group. I know it made them as happy to receive it as it was for me to give. But, it was hard to let go of it. I love the pics of the material that you purchased via EBAY. I would be afraid to do that but I do have Joann's and a couple of Walmarts locally that still sell fabric. Thanks for sharing your "F" with us today.

Thanks for stopping by the farmhouse for a visit. We love having company.

  16. I love the smell of a fabric shop! We don't have Joanne's up here, but I visit every time I go across the border - The Great Dane just groans and settles in with a book while I shope.

  19. I love fabric, too! Alas, before our recent move, I had to give up a sixteen year stash. I was heartbroken, knowing to keep it meant putting it into storage in a damp climate (mold)! Then a lady from church called me and asked if I had any cotton fabric for a dress and shorts project for AIDS orphans in Africa! All those years I thought I was collecting for future quilts, but God had something else in mind, entirely!

  23. I think I'd like to sneak into your fabric stash and pilfer the butterfly fabric and the paisleys. I have access to a lot of good fabric here but finding quilting cotton at a price that isn't completely insane is really difficult. I always forget about etsy, so thanks for reminding me!
