~how sad is this?~

Our sweet Rainer puppy broke his leg!
Completely in two.
And there are little cracks in the lower portion.
How? We'd love to know that too!
Rainer is a bit of an escape artist. We let him out to do his business in our fenced backyard and he finds a way out, returning with a scratch at the front door.
Yesterday he escaped, and when he came back his little back leg was just dangling.
UGH..a horrific sight!
We think, perhaps, he got his leg hung under the fence, and broke it trying to get free.
He has to get his splint changed each week for at least two weeks and possibly up to eight!

Oh my goodness!

Our poor little sweetie. Time for lots of lovin' and pamperin'!

~sister (and aunt) crafternoon~

Back on September 26, I hosted a craft day for my sisters and my Aunt Vickie. We had a lot of laughs, snacks and fun! We made toilet paper pumpkins and Halloween lanterns out of mason jars.

~early fall camping~

Last week was busy and somewhat stressful. So on Friday evening we decided to take off for a quick camping trip in Oklahoma. We ended up at Talimena State Park and the weather was perfect for camping.

After setting up our campsite, we decided to take the Talimena Scenic drive over to Mena, AR. This is a gorgeous drive through the Ouachita Mountains. In a couple of weeks the colors will be remarkable. We are thinking about taking a day trip then to see the colors.

Saturday night we enjoyed a camp fire. Stephen especially enjoys them. And I enjoy allowing him to experiment safely. He has a great appreciation for fire and how to be safe with it.

We roasted marshmallows and the above is my attempt at creative photography! :) I need some practice!
