Thursdays are nice
Thursdays are nice! Thursdays are fun! Thursday means days 'til the weekend equals one!
I've got problems. SERIOUS problems...just past two days off work due to ice and I'm still counting down until the weekend. Geez...Amy...there is LIFE during the week too!
That said, here are some fun things I'm doing DURING the week and after work. Tonight is bible study. Beth Moore - It's Tough Being a Woman (Can I get an Amen?) -a study in Esther. Love this study! And - after the study I am working on some ZSQs!
My Momma's b-day is tomorrow. And that's fun! I like giving her gifts. But, right now she is in the hospital. Not quite sure what's wrong, but she was acting all loopy yesterday so sister Carla took her in. She was retaining some fluid (she has congestive heart disease), but still not sure why she was so loopy. Good news is, she is feeling better today. Hopefully she won't have to spend her whole B-day in the hospital!
I still haven't gotten myself moved into my new craft room. And I ain't gonna lie and say it's going to happen this weekend...but I am making it a goal!

First ZSQ of 2009
Here's my first completed ZSQ of 2009. This is for a little girl named Raegan who is battling brain cancer.
I love making these blankets. I'm currently working on one for Virgil and next will be one for Stephen.
Today will be a good day to work on them. The university is closed until noon today, and I'm taking the whole day off because Stephen's school is closed and because I live just about an hour away from the University and roads are a little worse here.
Yesterday I made this dip that my husband loves. I don't know what you call it. I got it from a lady at work. Virgil LOVES it and has been nagging me to make it for a while! :) So, I finally did it yesterday. We like it with Scoops chips.
1 pkg. cream cheese
1 pkg. shredded cheddar cheese
finely chopped green pepper
finely chopped purple onion
about a Tablespoon of mayo
soy sauce to taste
Mix together well. I like to refrigerate it for a bit to allow the flavors to "come together."
So, that's all I got!

It's an ice day!
We got enough ice overnight to close down the University and Stephen's school, and Virgil is getting to telecommute today. And we still have electricity!! YAY, YAY, YAY!
I'm going to craft and make tamales.
Did I say YAY? ;)

Mondays!
I don't mind Monday so much. Except for the going to work thing, and havin' to get out of bed before 6 a.m. thing, and havin' to get Stephen going. Yeah, but other than that...no big deal! So here's a bit of what's up with me on this Monday...the last one in January 2009!
Outside my window...gray and drizzly...it may ice tonight
I am thinking...about some crafts I want to make
Last night I dreamt...that my inlaws let Grizzly Bears live in their kitchen. (oK,I actually dreamed this on Friday, but I can't remember my dream from last night!)
I smell...wintermint Life Savers from the candy dish on my desk
I am going...to pop into JoAnn's after work today
I just read...an email from Eddie
I am hoping...to get my computer set up in my new computer/craft room this week or weekend
Today I will...mail some packages I'm behind on
I am thankful for...God, the love of my family and friends, and owls.
Jenny...I copied your starters... :)

Wednesday Morning Weirds
1.At some time, in some way, I have gone from helping my son open packages an such, to having to call him into the kitchen to open jars for me.
2.Stephen and I both pray for snow days.
3.The scent of Road Kill skunk sometimes reminds me of licorice.
4.I like Licorice.
5.I think it would be neat to own a berry farm, yet I have no idea how to grow berries.
6.I’m obsessed with folksy looking owls.
7.Virgil, my husband, and Patch, our Daschund kind of sound the same when they snore.
8.I would seriously love to drive until I found snow.
9.I felt compelled to post this today.
10.Ciao!

So...It's Saturday
It's Saturday, and first of all, I slept a RIDICULOUSLY long time this morning. I wasn't out of bed until after 9:30 a.m. And, crap, I really don't like sleeping in, but it's this whole going back to work thang. It plumb WORE ME OUT!
So, what else is up on this Saturday. Hmmmm...Patch, our sweet weiner dog, vomited all over his pillow and blanket. ICK...so it is being washed...and Stephen washed Patch and Rainer for good measure. Stephen has a basketball game today, and I'm baking some bread and cookies to take to a friend who lost a loved one.
A little later, we are picking up our niece, Katrina. She and Stephen are going to watch the movie Despereaux, while Virgil and I watch Valkyrie. (and I'm not sure I spelled either of those movie names correctly!)
Tonight, I'm hoping to work on the Stephen room swap project.
And, I want to take some pictures of current projects to post here!
Here's hopin'!
Have a great Saturday!
Be blessed! ~ @my

Thursday Confessions
I’m trying to get back into the groove! You know, the “holidays are over, back to work, outta bed by 6, routine machine” groove. And it’s hard. And I’m tired! I miss my naps! Who would have thought that 2 weeks off work would throw such a kink in my routine? Two glorious, routine free weeks! And my poor little family….they suffer!
So, in hopes of rectifying my lack of routineness, I confess:
1. I haven’t cooked a meal all week long!
2. My laundry hamper is overflowing onto my bedroom floor (this is an understatement)
3. I haven’t worked on any projects all week! Wait…I did rip some fabric for a ZSQ on Tuesday! ahh
4. I don’t even want to talk about the state of my refrigerator.
5. LG (the Leopard Gecko) is hungry! I forgot to pick up meal worms yesterday!
6. Stephen is in between bedrooms – he has his desk and book case in one room and his bed, clothes and toys/etc in the other. And he really wants to get moved. And I really want to start on my craft room. …sigh…
7. I have no snacks prepared for my sweet hubby and tonight is the college national championship ball game.
8. I ate CinnaMelts from McDonalds this morning.
9. I’m outta coffee!
10. We’re down to one roll of TP in each bathroom!!
Gasp, gasp, …let me catch my breath. …. Ok, I feel better!
Have a great day!

In Memory of Dad
Jasper Louis "Tommy" Roberts
Feb. 14, 1935 - Jan. 2, 2008
I thought of you with love today but that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday and days before that too,
I think of you in silence, I often speak your name,
All I have are memories and your picture in a frame,
Your memory is my keepsake with which I’ll never part,
God has you in His keeping,
I have you in my heart.
I love you Daddy!

Happy New Year!
2009 is here! And I'm looking forward to a great year. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful family and I am grateful.
I received sad news tonight and am asking anyone reading this post to say a prayer for my Uncle Bill and Aunt Betty and all their children. Pray for peace for them and the continued knowledge that the Lord is there for them ALWAYS!
Here are a few of my goals for 2009:
-Learn more of the Lord's word
-Make a quilt
-Make healthy changes to my life and encourage my husband and son to do the same
-Catch up on some projects around the house
-Strive to be better...
Wishing you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year and praying for God's blessings on you and yours.
