Or maybe I love them because my dear husband told me that wasps lay their eggs in Figs and so that when I eat figs or Fig Newtons that I'm eating wasp eggs. Why would this entice me to love? I dunno, but its a little creepy, right? And it doesn't gross me out at all. And, amazingly, it doesn't gross my hubby out either and he can't even pull hair out of drain without gagging. (tehehe) But, I digress!
The point of this post is that I found these this weekend:
{nope not a 12 pak...I swiped this photo from Amazon}
These are awesome! And eating two of them on a drag-butt morning at work is an awesome pick me up. And they're 100% whole grain...that's got to be better for you than the original! Right?

As my son would say..."Umom nom nom"...they are delish!
I love fig newtons too. I acutally once attempted to make them homemade which was ridiculous complicated and really not worth the effort. Glad you found something healthy and yummy you enjoy!
Oh Amy,
Your story reminds me of my Grandpa. He loved Fig Newtons also. There was always a stash of them in the kitchen drawer. He was always willing to share, but I never cared for them. I haven't had one in probably 40 yrs. Who knows, I might actually *heart* them now! LOL And what your hubby is telling you about the figs ~ ewww, that's just gross!
I love fig newtons too! Fruit and cake! :-)
